What's it about? Help to bring alive the churchyard. Volunteers will help maintain a beautiful wildlife haven in the Wiltshire countryside. Volunteers will have the chance to increase the biodiversity of the site by plug planting, grass cutting and management.

Sensory Garden

What's it about? We are creating a sensory garden for an area of wasteland at the side of a learning support centre. We will have the ground ready for planting by the project date - ready-potted shrubs. Some relevant ornaments made by students will also be added to the site.

Playing For The Future Of Our Planet

What's it about? Using recycled polyethelene bins a recycling scheme will be set up for the use of the parents and children of the Pre-School. The children will be able to sort the items brought in and will re-use them either in role play or to make models etc or they will be recycled at a recycling bank. The Pre-School will encourage the children to think about how things can be recycled and so it will be come part of every day life for them.

Awaken The Senses

What's it about? We want to revamp some old dead borders within our school grounds. We want to add plants that will tantalise all the senses - touch, sight, smell, taste and hearing. Volunteers will dig over the borders, add compost and plant sensory plants, which will then be watered regularly.

The Hanging Gardens Of Eldene

What's it about? We aspire to plant attractive hanging baskets to provide a cheerful welcome to our school community and visitors as they approach our reception area. We are continuing to improve and regenerate a tired, neglected area of our school grounds. Our gardening club, which currently has 6 Year 2 members, began meeting in 2005. In taking ownership of this under used area we anticipate the children will promote care for and understanding of the environment.
