What's it about? This school has some wonderful grounds and a little woodland area which we shall be working in to enable it to be used by the children. Cutting back nettles and undergrowth, clearing litter dropped by other users and many other tasks.

What's it about? Britain is facing a crisis with in its honey bee population. Hetesbury pimping station is a virgin site for honey bees, organic ground and free from preditors. It has been identified as an excellent site to establish a bee colony. Volunteers will plant specialist trees and shrubs at strategic locations.

Channels for mammals
Where? newport
When? 15th July 2009
What's it about? I will endeaviour to clear a stretch of neglected stream for the benefit of the water vole. The volunteers will clear and cut-back scrub which impedes the wellebing of this British Wildlife (Critically Endangered) species.

Banish The Beasties, Bring On The Butterflies

What's it about? Intensive farming and lack of field marginals has led to a dramatic loss of habitat for butterflies. The volunteers will create and plant a specific area for these challenged species.

Car Park Clear Up
Where? Ventnor
When? Friday 24th July 2009
What's it about? This project aims to improve the appearance of a car park in the centre of Ventnore. It is an open air car park on a site that was formerly a church. The back wall has had overgrown shrubbery. We are working on clearing the site, putting in new planting, creating a mosaic for the front of the wall and rendering amd painting the wall. The mosaic tells the history of Ventnor.
