From Plugs To Wildflowers
Where? Southampton
When? Saturday 25th April 2009
What's it about? In the past we have been disappointed at our attempts to grow a' Wildflower area' using seeds. What we would like is the chance to grow some wildflowers from plugs. If we are successful in our application we will buy 104 wildflower plugs to plant. The volunteers will first mow the grass closely, then Scarify (rake with a circular movement) we will then water and dig holes (5to a sq metre) and plant the plugs in firm ground before thoroughly watering. We will remove all waste to the compost bin and dig out invasive weeds. Some volunteers will need to come in daily for 6weeks to water the plugs. This will be a rota of those who live nearby and are willing to help.
