We are going to buy planters, boxes, equipment and plants to have plant displays at entrance to the building used by the 50+ and luncheon club members, as this is a multi purpose building they will be brought in at night time ; the volunteers will plant the displays as part of the craft and occupation activities in the club; every one will have chance to play their part in choosing plants, planting and maintanence all year round.Cefn

The Back Bone Garden Revamp

What's it about? Volunteers will plant colourful plants and shrubs in the garden area known as the back bone garden - because the local quarry owner donated stone for a double row of edging to the path, this is the same stone as used in the Poncasyllytte aqueduct in Trevor built by Thomas Telford. The garden is near the old peoples bungalows in cefn mawr and has seating and a verse written in the stone by the children of the local school the garden is desperate for plants and shrubs

What's it about? To make a compass out of sand and cement and build a low wall around it for seating. It will be installed in our local park which we manage and maintain. The local children will make concrete cobble stones with their initials etched into wet cement which will form a circle around the compass. We will also be burying a time capsule containing symbolic items relating to Global warming, beneath the compass. The children will also help with the construction. Also lay steps leadind up to the site.
