Let's Cross the Monks Walk

What's it about? The project is to create a path in an area of a woodland garden called the Monks Walk. The path will be marked out and volunteers will remove self seeded bulbs and plants from the path and re-plant them elsewhere in the area or the remaining gardens

Platform Planting

What's it about? The friends group are currently renovating an old railway carriage which is to be converted into a classroom. This project will brighten up the platform the carriage is sitting at. The volunteers will then make planters from reclaimed timber then plant the flowers and shrubs around the area.

Helping Babies

What's it about? We want to replant around vaious baby memorials in our local cemetary and put summer plants in take the old plants out and tidy around the area. The baby memorial has been erected by the group in memory of 150 babies buried in unmarked graves.

Allotments In Bloom

What's it about? Saltburn Allotment Assocation has a compound area where three containers are used to store equipment for sale and loan such as library books, seeds and compost, rotivators and strimmers,juckers and dyers.The area is very untidy. We intend to involve our volunteers and others if interested, in weeding and clearing the area. Planting will include flowering plants and shrubs and vegetables to give an example of how people can include vegetables in container gardening. For example, tumbling tomatoes will be added to hanging baskets.

Blooming Beautiful

The project/session will be primarily working with children who will have the opportunity to paint plant pots with a spring/nature theme and then plan them up with an array of plants for display in and around the community centre and also for the children to take home to display as many of the families in the area only have yards and not a green/garden area.

It's a Wild Life!
