Riot in the Pond

What's it about? Clearing vegetation, in particular New Zealand Pigmy Weed, which is running riot in a pond. The plants will be carefully pulled up by hand and bagged ready for incineration.

Tree and Hedge Planting on the Middlewood Way

What's it about? We will be planting native trees and hedgerow plants on a part of the Middle wood way that is an important natural area used by local people for leisure and recreation - this will provide habitat for wildlife, especially nesting birds, as well as improving the appearance and natural beauty of the area for visitors. The volunteers will assist the rangers in a range of tree and hedgerow planting tasks and will learn about the principles of hedge-laying.
